Turn that Jack-o’-lantern frown upside down because the studio that brought us Paranormal Activity, The Invisible Man, and is spearheading Universal’s reimagined Dark Universe is making a last-minute effort to save what was looking like a bit of a downer Halloween.

Enter BlumFest, horror studio Blumhouse’s brand-new fan event for genre fiends, which will drop this Thursday, October 29, at 1pm ET / 10am PT on YouTube.

A kind of mini convention for horror fans, BlumFest will feature virtual panels – hosted by Rotten Tomatoes’ own Jacqueline Coley – as well as updates and major news announcements about Blumhouse’s latest and upcoming movie and TV projects.

Yes, before you ask, Laurie Strode will be in attendance, with Jamie Lee Curtis joining writer-director David Gordon Green, Blumhouse head honcho Jason Blum, and others for a discussion about Halloween Kills, the sequel to 2018’s Certified Fresh Halloween, set to hit theaters in 2021.

Other exciting panels include a discussion with Ethan Hawke about his series, The Good Lord Bird, currently the best-reviewed show on the Fall calendar.

Looking to dive into stuff you won’t have to wait years to see? BlumFest will also include a chat with the cast and writer-director of The Craft: Legacy, as well as a panel with Vince Vaughn, Kathryn Newton, and write-director Chris Landon, whose horror-comedy Freaky releases November 13.

Blum is also promising some big surprise guests at the festival, which is available on Blumhouse’s YouTube channel.

Here’s a full breakdown of what to expect:

  • Welcome to the Blumhouse: Amazon Studios’ Jennifer Salke and Jason Blum discuss the collaboration between the two companies that resulted in recent films The Lie, Nocturne, Evil Eye, and Black Box.
  • The Craft: Legacy: With writer-director Zoe Lister Jones and cast members Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna, Nicholas Galitzine, Michelle Monaghan, and David Duchovny.
